Oldbury

During 2008 Oldbury Power Station successfully implemented Generation Optimisation, meaning Oldbury will be able to continue to generate electricity into 2009 and beyond. After that point, fuel will be progressively removed from the reactors and sent to Sellafield for treatment. This is expected to take three years. An approved EIAD has already been granted to allow decommissioning to begin promptly.
